Brother, I just wanted you to know that I’m praying for you and the battle you’re going through. I know pornography can become something that feels incredibly difficult to break away from, especially when it becomes the place we turn to when we’re stressed, lonely, angry, bored, or hurting. Don’t fight this only by trying to have more willpower. Bring it before God, especially when the temptation hits. Ask Him to show you what you’re actually searching for in that moment and to give you the strength to choose Him instead. I also really recommend an audiobook called Surfing for God: Discovering the Divine Desire Beneath Sexual Struggle by Michael John Cusick. I finished it myself, and I think it approaches this struggle in a powerful way. It goes deeper than simply saying, “Stop watching porn.” It looks at why we keep returning to it, what we’re actually longing for underneath the sexual desire, and how that deeper longing ultimately points us toward God. I’ll be praying that God gives you strength, discipline, wisdom, and freedom from this. Don’t let shame convince you to hide from God when you stumble. That’s exactly when you need to run toward Him. Keep fighting, brother. One battle at a time.
