People don't have to truly undergo emotional feelings in order for them to be genuinely repentent from sin correct?

No not specifically, but i find if you resaly think about what you do when you sin you actively reject God etc it will come with an emotional response

First off, God knows your heart, that's the start, examine your heart and confess before God what's in it. Someone can cry tears and say they love you but ultimately can be planning to murder you. So you gotta understand that God already knows before you even go to Him, but it's not about Him knowing already but you admitting that you did wrong and want to go back in the right path.

True! If you bow your head, fold your hands, start with saying dear Lord... Then just say I'm sorry for what I've done. I love you Lord, amen. Then that's good...

Every person is different and hears the Lord tugging at them. Understanding that you must pray in truth, be honest and repent. To repent is to turn away from the sin. Thus you pray and mean it in your heart that you want to change and need God’s help. He will give you the strength to endure and resist.
