Day 2 of looking deeply at Bible verses Mark 8:34-35 The Jesus called the crowd and his disciples to him. ‘’ If anyone wants to come with me’’ he told them’’ he must forget self, carry his cross, and follow me. For whoever wants to save his own life will lose it; but whoever loses his life for me and for the gospel will save it’’. This verse highlights the challenges of following Jesus. Jesus says anyone who tries to save his life shall lose it. This is talking about how we cling on to out earthly desires and they become idols and we idolise them above our relationship with God. But instead we must completely surrender ourselves to Jesus and consistently try to get closer to him and further for satan. This verse also can be comforting because being a follower of Jesus can often be a lonely and narrow path to take. But that is because we are losing our lives for the gospel and Jesus so anytime something or someone is removed from your life, remember that your focus is living your life dedicated to Jesus and think to yourself if maybe it or they were what was holding you back from God. Thank you to everyone who read this and have a blessed day!

"Then Jesus said to his disciples, "Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me. For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will find it.""
