If you've never fasted while reading his Word, I highly recommend it. Just a light fast; postpone one meal. It creates a powerful bond with the Lord that makes you feel his love and comfort. It's quality time with the Lord. Also say the Lord's prayer over and over again.

The most important thing is the state of the heart; if you already feel guilty for sinning, that is a very good sign. That's where things start from. Pray for strength and guidance. The Lord loves you. Being a Christian does not mean we are perfect, but that we accept Jesus as our Savior, love Him, and follow Him, but this first shows in the heart.
