Orthodox prayer A Prayer for Guidance and Mercy O Lord God, Eternal and Almighty, Who dwells in unapproachable light, Look upon me, Thy humble servant, With the compassion of Thy great mercy. Cleanse my heart of all impurity, Guide my mind to walk in Thy ways, And illumine my soul with the light of Thy grace. Teach me to love Thee with all my heart, To seek Thee in truth, and to serve Thee in humility. Guard me, O Lord, from the snares of the evil one, And protect me from the temptations of this world. Grant me wisdom to discern Thy will, And strength to fulfill Thy commandments. O Christ, our Savior, Who gave Thyself for our salvation, May I abide in Thy love, And glorify Thee with my thoughts, words, and deeds. Through the prayers of the Most Holy Theotokos, Of the holy apostles, and all the saints, Be merciful to me, a sinner, And lead me to the joy of everlasting life. For Thou art the King of kings, The Lord of lords, and the Giver of every good thing, And to Thee we send up glory, Together with Thy Father who is without beginning, And Thine all-holy, good, and life-creating Spirit, Now and ever, and unto the ages of ages.
