To follow in Jesus' footsteps and be controlled by Him, we must first surrender our lives to Him completely. In Galatians 2:20, it says, "I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me." This verse emphasizes the need to die to self and allow Christ to live in and through us. We should seek to imitate Jesus' character, love, and obedience to God's will, as seen in passages like 1 John 2:6, which says, "Whoever claims to live in him must live as Jesus did." By studying His teachings, spending time in prayer, and relying on the Holy Spirit, we can walk in His footsteps, be controlled by His Spirit, and live a life that honors and glorifies Him.
